About This Item

London: Printed for T. Cadell, et alia, 1840. Hardcover. Quite a good copy: xxiv, 780p., in "full binding" of pressed calf with raised bands underscored gilt, black leather spine label gilt, panelled in blind, textblock with waxed/tinted edges, original endsheets over excellent hinges, light abrasion everywhere but nothing grievous, a tight unsophisticated exemplar, pleasant to hold. Oh yes, front pastedown has a nice period maritime image laid down on it, and at pp.750/1 find a couple small old inkstains.
