About This Item
(London: Scott, Greenwood: 1901) First Edition in book form. The publisher states: 'The following Notes were contributed to a high-class technical Journal some years ago by the late James Fairie, F.G.S., a painstaking and practical geologist. The literature of this subject is limited, and it is thought that, gathered in this booklet, they will be useful to those handling Pottery Clays.' Cloth (that is, hard covers) pp. iv, 132 and 36 publisher's advertisements, being A Catalogue of Special Technical Works, dated June, 1901. Index. First Edition. With the ownership signature of William Shakeshaft at the head of the first page of text. Head and foot of spine rubbed and somewhat worn; discoloration and staining to the cloth, mainly to the front, resulting in the red colouring of the cloth affecting the margins of some leaves; otherwise a very good copy.
