VITEBERGAE : A M. SEBASTIANO THEODORICO, 1564. Rara opera di astronomia del 1564 scritta da Sebastianus Theodoricus (1521-1574) professore di matematica e medicina all'Università di Wittenberg. Theodoricus sosteneva l'importanza delle autopsie a scopo didattico e dell'aritmetica, fondamentale per qualsiasi azione giornaliera dalla gestione della famiglia alle transazioni commerciali fino al calcolo dei movimenti dei corpi celesti e del calendario, nonchè per indicare le aree e le distanze in geografia. Appassionato di astronomia, insegnava della geometria e astronomia dopo Euclide e Claudio Tolomeo. Questa opera, in forma di domanda e risposta era ad uso degli studenti. Incisione della sfera armillare al frontespizio e numerose incisioni nel testo e tre tavole ripiegate (una sul clima). Antica firma al frontespizio e note nel testo. In buone condizioni. Copertina in mezza pergamena ottocentesca in buone condizioni con lievi usure marginali. Legatura in buone condizioni. Pagine in buone condizioni generali con fioriture. Bruniture. In 16. Dim. 16x10,5 cm. Pp. (16)+320+3 tav.Scarce work of astronomy of 1564 written by Sebastianus Theodoricus (1521-1574) teacher of mathematics and medicine in the University of Wittenberg. Theodoricus substained the importance of autopsies for educational aim and of arythmetics, which was very useful for daily action from the management of family to commercial transactions, to calculation of movements of celestial bodies and calendar, to indicate areas and distances in geography. Passionate of astronomy, he read about geometry and astronomy after Euclide and Claudio Tolomeo. This work, in form of question and answer, was for the usage of students. Engraving of armillar sphere in the title page, different woodcuts and three folded charts (one about climate). Antique signature in the title page and notes in the text. In good conditions. Half parchment cover of 19th century in good conditions lightly worn in the extremities. Binding in good general conditions.Inside pages are in good conditions with foxing. Yellowings. In 16.
