About This Item

Indianapolis: The Bobbs-Merrill Company, 1931. First edition (stated). Very good plus in very good jacket.. First edition of this amusing snapshot of the tangled lives of entertainers in their twilight years, a satire with heart. "Nathan smiles at the comedy and breaks your heart with it," observes Michael March in THE BROOKLYN CITIZEN (5). Appropriately, a species of orchid was named after Robert Nathan in 2004 (Paphiopedilum Robert Nathan Boersma). 7.5'' x 5''. Original purple cloth lettered in gilt. In original unclipped ($2.00) blue and pink pictorial dust jacket with art by L. Trevisan. 199, [1] pages. Gilt lettering somewhat tarnished. Jacket with fading to spine, shallow chipping at spine edges, a bit of light soiling and edgewear.
