London: Chatto & Windus, 1898. The last volume in Zola's "Three Cities" series (naturally, a trilogy). This is a Very Good copy of the First English Edition. Translated from the French by Alfred Vizetelly. Blue cloth binding decorated with multiple 3-masted ships on the front cover and spine. Titling on the front is black; gilt on the spine. Clean text; xiv, 488 page; floral decorative endpapers. Preface by the translator, Ernest Alfred Vizetelly. There is an advertising leaf in the front and the rear contains a 32-page catalog. Bumped, with a darkened spine rubbed at its margins and some light spotting to the page-ends. A sound copy that shows its age a bit.. First UK Edition. Decorative Cloth. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
