Fortieth anniversary edition limited to 1,500 numbered and signed copies, of which this is the publisher's copy. A facsimile of the original 1950 Doubleday edition. Beige cloth with orange title to spine and a very nice dustjacket. Housed in an orange cloth slipcase. The fortieth anniversary booklet is laid in containing a new foreward by Asimov and an editor's note by Jennifer Brehl. A perfectly clean copy from the library of a Doubleday executive without any previous owners' names or other defacements. As new: kept in a cabinet since publication.

Synopsis
Pebble in the Sky is a science fiction novel by Isaac Asimov, published in 1950. This work is his first novel — parts of the Foundation series had appeared from 1942 onwards, in magazines, but Foundation was not published in book form until 1951. The original Foundation books are also a string of linked episodes, whereas this is a complete story involving a single group of characters.
