Edited by Gottfried Gabriel, Hans Hermes, Friedrich Kambartel, Christian Thiel, and Albert Veraart. Translated by Hans Kaal. Abridged from the German edition by Brian McGuiness. First printing of the first American edition. Includes correspondence with Hilbert, Peano, Husserl, Jourdain, and Russell (among others). Frege was of one of the greatest philosophers of the later nineteenth and early twentieth centuries and made significant contributions to logic and philosophy of language, and is generally regarded as one of the founding figures of analytic philosophy. He was a notable influence on Bertrand Russell, G.E. Moore, and Ludwig Wittgenstein and remains extremely influential to the present day. An exceptional copy of Frege's most important surviving mathematical and philosophical correspondence.
