Lacks a quarter inch at both ends of spine, corners and bottom edge of boards showing, light scattered foxing, two inch damp stain in top outer corner on plates 59-66, plate 12 has a five inch tear. This is a tight all original copy.; Large 4to 12.5" tall; Publisher's blind stamped cloth with gilt title on front board, six pages of Carey & Hart ads preceed the text, 235p., 80 lithographed plates, with 40 sheets of text adjoining their plates. **American Imprint #44-4361. The lithographs were engraved on stone by S. Cichowski. With the bookplate of Henry S. Patterson (1815-1854) and the ink stamp of Osborne C. Camly. Patterson delivered the Valeldictory address to the graduates of the Medical Department of Pennsylvania College. .
