Rare guide to the QBS, presenting a brief overview from its official inauguration on 25 June 1968 up to the opening of its new building (pictured on the cover) in 1982; no copies located among institutional libraries. The slim guide also covers programming, organisation and administration, the music library, and gives a timetable for its news bulletins in its General Arabic, English, Public, and Urdu programmes. Images include royal portraits of Emir HH Sheikh Khalifa Bin Hamad Al-Thani and Heir Apparent HH Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the first generation of QBS staff (dated 1970), buildings, and studios. Landscape small octavo, pp. 18. Original printed wrappers, half-tone illustration to front cover showing QBS New Building, wire-stitched as issued. Half-tone portraits of the Emir of Qatar and Defence Minister, 5 other half-tone illustrations. Light signs of handling to back wrapper; one leaf torn out from the middle. A very good copy.
