About This Item
Written in affectionate tribute to a great lady, "Queen Mother" looks back at the life of the Queen Mother and the part she has played in establishing the House of Windsor in the hearts and minds of its subjects. Lacey's text is accompanied by more than a hundred full-color portraits by such artists and photographers as Agustus John, Cecil Beaton, Norman Parkinson and Lord Snowdon. Lord Snowdon's photographs were specially commissioned for "Queen Mother" and like a number of other pictures in the book, are being published for the first time. "Queen Mother" is an illustrated keepsake that looks not only at Queen Elizabeth's life, but at almost a century of British history. Glossy stock throughout. Photographic price-intact dust jacket. Front jacket photo by Cecil Beaton, back jacket photo by Norman Parkinson. Robert Lacey has been an insightful observer and graceful chronicler of royalty.
