Providence: H. H. Brown, 1829. Minor foxing and browning throughout, front board detached, else a very good copy. 12mo. 167 pages. Folding frontis. Cloth over boards with gilt-stamped leather spine and tips. Name autographed on fly. FIRST EDITION. Folding frontispiece with a view of the ship's exterior and accompanying diagrams of two decks. This former ship-of-the-line was converted into a warehouse and finally a prison-ship anchored on the East River. Dring was captured and held for several months of 1782 in dreadful conditions which he describes in detail in this book.
