THIRD EDITION 1839, 12mo, approximately 180 x 105 mm, 7 x 4¼ inches, frontispiece and 23 engraved plates with a total of 66 very good interesting images dated 1839, pages: viii, 396 including index, original publisher's binding of quarter red roan over marbled boards, gilt title within gilt frame on spine, pale yellow endpapers. Binding slightly rubbed, corners very slightly worn, spine gilt slightly dull, frontispiece, title page and 10 plates lightly browned on the image and slightly foxed in the margin, 13 plates faintly foxed in the margins, text facing plates slightly browned, otherwise clean. A very good tight copy. An instructive educational book covering a very wide range of subjects including manufactures and industry, agriculture, transport, shipbuilding, crafts, mining, precious stones, wines, spices etc. First published in this form in 1836 incorporating Scenes of British Wealth (1823).
