Octavo, original illustrated cloth, frontispiece with tissue guard, illustrated througout with 113 photographs, 2 folding maps at rear. Inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper, "May this volume speak to you of pleasant day. John T. Faris March 22, 1924." In very good condition with some rubbing and wear. A nice example of early American natural history and travel writing.
