Limited edition, copy 27 of 925, signed by Steichen and Sandburg. Frontispiece and 48 full-page photogravure, each with titled cover sheet. The text is by Sandburg who notes, J. Walter Thompson signed an exclusive contract with Steichen, paying as much as $1000.00 for a single photograph. Edward Jean Steichen, born in Luxembourg was one of the most prolific and influential figures in the history of photography. Signature front cover pastedown, very slight rubbing to spine extremities.
