George Foot Moore (1851 - 1931) was an eminent historian and professor of religion, and an author and Presbyterian minister. He was a professor at Andover Theological Seminary, and a member of the Harvard Divinity School faculty from 1902 until his retirement in 1928. He was particularly known for this masterwork.
This is the definitive translation of this classic into Italian by the distinguished Italian-born American theologian, priest, philosopher, humanist, anti-Facist and medieval scholar Giorgio La Piana, who was also at the Harvard Divinity School, as Morison Professor of Church History from1926 to 1948.
