In very good condition with considering age. Red covers with 12 sided color illustration paper paste-up on front. Faded black lettering on front cover and spine. Page opposite title page has a 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 black. White paper paste-up book ownership showing a young girl on a sofa reading a book. Inked ownership on top of Judith Gaile Jays or Jaye. Front and rear hinges are cracked but does not affect text (although it is a bit shaky) which is still quite tight and clean. Very sweet color illlustrations of which some are illuminated. Both Petersham's did a great job as illustrators. Will be glad to look up any story or poem title that is not listed. Some of the poems are also in pre-1945 Dutch. Still in gift quality condition.
