Edizione latina del 1589 di questa interessante opera sulle calamità del mondo "Theatre du monde" scritta da Pierre Boaistuai (1500-1566) giurista, viaggiatore, umanista, traduttore e scrivano francese. Il nome dell'autore viene indicato nella dedicatoria di Dominicus Lampsonius con lo pseudonimo di Petri Launaei. Durante i suoi studi Boaistuai lavorò come segretario dell'Ambasciatore francese in oriente Jean Jacques de Cambrai e viaggiò in Italia e in Germania. L'opera venne pubblicata per la prima volta a Parigi nel 1558 come "Theatre du monde" e conobbe diverse edizioni. Traduzione a cura del carmelitano e teologo Laurent Cuper (1527-1594). L'opera contiene una serie di trattati sulle guerre, epidemie e disastri naturali che diverse categorie di persone dovettero affrontare (Re, Papi, Clero, giudici, soldati, mercanti ec.) In discrete condizioni ma completo. Copertina in pelle con stemma a secco ai piatti in discrete condizioni con usure ai margini e dorso coperto da carta. Legatura in buone condizioni ma rottura al frontespizio. Pagine in buone condizioni con fioriture. Alcuni segni di tarlo alle prime 5 carte con leggera perdita di testo alle prime quattro. (10)+261+(3).Latin edition of 1589 of this interesting work about disasters in the world written by Pierre Boaistuai (1500-1566) frenhc jurist, traveller, humanist, translator and writer.<BR><BR>The name of the author is indicated in the dedicatory of Dominicus Lampsonius with the pseudonimous of Petri Launaei. Boaistuai during his studies worked as a segretary of french Ambassador in Middle East Jean Jacques de Cambrai and travelled in Italy and Germany. Translation by the theologian Laurent Cuper (1527-1594). The work contains a series of treaties about wars, plagues and natural disasters of different categories of people (Kings, Popes, judges, soldiers, merchants ec.) In fair conditions but complete. Leather cover with embossed mark in the plates in fair conditions lightly worn in the extremities and spine covered by paper. Binding in good condtions with light cracks in the title page. Pages in good conditions with foxing. Some worming in the first 5 pages with light loss of text in the first four page. Missing parts with reinforcement in the title page. In 24. Dim. 13x8 cm. Pp.
