REISSUE 1869 (first published in 1867), 8vo, ORIGINAL dark green cloth, blindstamped decorative border, gilt illustration with portrait, balloons, flags and decoration to upper cover and spine, gilt lettered spine, pages: xii, (12), 268 pages. Hand coloured portrait of the Baron as frontispiece with tissue guard, 22 interesting engraved plates, including 1 double page plus 5 small woodcuts in the text by George Cruikshank, woodcut head- and tailpieces. Head and tail of spine and corners very slightly worn, 3 minute nicks at tail, tiny bumps to corners, inner hinges cracked and some inner joints cracked, binding sound, front endpaper removed (see image), old private library bookplate on front pastedown, signature on bookplate and on half-title, page edges slightly darkened, tissue guard to frontispiece browned, occasional light foxing, 2 plates (at page 262 and 268) inexpertly reinserted with loss of inner margin and slight wear to edges.
