Includes striking color and b&w illustrations by Lajos Szalay and an introduction by Sir John Gielgud; translated from the Russian by Constance Garnett. Sandglass leaflet laid in (NY, no. II: 32). --- In red cloth-covered boards with titling and decorations in gilt on cover and spine; dark red topstain. Volume housed in tweed-look red/green/yellow paper-covered slipcase. --- A well-preserved, newish copy: clean, unmarked and bright. Good+ slipcase with an area which has been creased at spine end, some light scuffing but is otherwise undamaged and is structurally sound.; Tall Octavo (9 to 10 in. tall); xvi, 153 pages .
