A. C. McClurg and Company, 1892. First Edition. Hardcover. 301 pages. The author's first book. Harriet Monroe (1860-1936) was the publisher and long-time editor of Poetry magazine, firts published in 1912. Inscribed by the author on front free endpaper: 'For Eve ______, in appreciation of many kindnesses. Harriet Monroe, New Year's, 1899.' First trade edition (first printing). A very good copy in cloth covers with gilt lettering on front cover and spine. Mild edge and corner wear. Spine edges rolled with slight loss of color. Slight rippling to cloth on front cover.
