About This Item
Cambridge University Press, 1946. 1st edition. Very nice green cloth, gilt spine lettering, very clean pages and endpapers, with 54 photographs and 5 maps. The dustjacket shows a little edgewear at the folds, is price-clipped, and overall is near fine. This is the true first printing, not the reprint of 1947. Tilman details his experiences as a soldier in the Second World War, and as a mountaineer before that, and how these two occupations related to each other throughout his life.
