It covers events in the history of Winchester, VA, starting with its founding in 1743. Also included are manuscripts, letters, maps, addresses, genealogical notes, and other ephemera related to the city's early days, especially regarding the exploits of city founder Col. James Wood. With 10 additional engraved and photo-illustrated plates of historic Winchester buildings, plus a full name index.
