William Heinemann, 1942. Book. Poor. No Binding. A pictorial dust wrapper produced by William Heinemann for a planned reprint in the Cheap Reprint 3s 6d series of Greene's first novel but was aborted in 1942/1943 owing to wartime constrictions. The dust wrappers that had been printed were then printed to verso for an unrelated wartime publication. In poor condition only with loss at head and tail of spine and at head and tail of joints, stain to foot of front flap. A scarce item of Graham Greene interest..
Synopsis
Graham Greene (1904–1991) worked as a journalist and critic, and was later employed by the foreign office. His many books include The Third Man, The Comedians and Travels with My Aunt. He is the subject of an acclaimed three-volume biography by Norman Sherry.
