Tokyo: The Foreign Affairs Association of Japan, 1953. Very good plus.. Second printing of this beautifully illustrated study of Hiroshi, with an original color woodblock frontis signed by the artist. Essay on Hiroshi's color woodblock prints, with a full list of prints and guide to identifying the artist's signature and seals. The author, an American lawyer, served as defense counsel at the Tokyo War Crimes Tribunal, and from 1949 onward was a law lecturer at Tokyo University. A handsome production. 9.5'' x 6.5''. Original printed wrappers. Binding sewn with red thread; upper and lower left-hand corners tinted red. Illustrated with three color plates (including original color woodblock frontispiece) and one black and white photograph. Signed in pencil by the artist below frontis image. 36 pages. Light edgewear and moderate soil to covers.
