About This Item

(London): (The Saatchi Collection), 1992. First edition. Near fine.. Uncommon catalogue of the Saatchi Gallery exhibition that gave the YBAs their name, following on the influential 1990 warehouse shows that first brought Hirst and his peers to the attention of Charles Saatchi and the wider art world. The exhibition not only lent the loosely-affiliated group of artists their collective title, it also marked the debut of perhaps the most iconic (and infamous) work of the 1990s: Hirst's "The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living," featuring a shark suspended in formaldehyde. Uncommon and important. 11.75'' x 8.5''. Original saddle-stapled printed white wrappers. Black and white illustrations. Light edgewear, faint corner crease, very faint spotting to back cover.
