Xviii pp prelim material, 232 numbered pp, plus six blank. Dedic, acknowl, list of maps, prologue, intro, nine chaps from stateside to the end of the war in Europe; three epilogues (e.g., later years' observations), four appendices (e.g., bayonet drill, letters and reports), glossary, index. Condition notes: an excellent, clean, tight, square copy, inscribed by the author on the title page to a former owner. Light wear/rubbing to dj. Else interior unmarked. St. Paul, Minnesota native Devitt saw action as a 'shavetail' (i.e. newly minted lieutenant) in the Huertgen Forest and Ardennes/Battle of the Bulge, among others. Furrowed Brow Books was established in 2020. The bookstore's owner, Paul Purman, grew up in an old farmhouse full of books. Paul had been providing online booksales since 2008 through several popular online sales venues. In 2021 Paul was accepted as a member of the Independent Online Booksellers' Association (IOBA), and graduated from the annual Colorado Antiquarian Book Seminar (CABS-Minnesota).
