About This Item

Venice: Lucio Spineda, 1599. 16mo in eights (15cm). Contemporary blind-tooled parchment over boards, with floral ornaments in corners, oval tool with floral interlace design in centers of boards, spine divided into six compartments by raised bands, titled in gilt on brown leather spine label, all edges sprinkled red. Foliated [1] 2-293,[39]. Final four leaves of text lacking, but supplied in contemporary pen facsimile. With very occasional contemporary marginalia, e.g. wee manicule, 153v. 16mo: A-Z8 2A-2S8, [T]4. Boards lightly splayed with minor wear and soil, loss to parchment over upper corners, moderate old stains to last quarter of text, but overall around Very Good.

Later printing of an oft-reprinted text by the Bishop of Orvieto on legal nullity and annulment. A pleasing copy in a contemporary binding, with several leaves of skilful, early pen facsimile.
