Poster for the 1976 New York Shakespeare Festival [Joseph Papp, Producer] production of Measure for Measure directed by John Pasquin and featuring Sam Waterson as the Duke, Meryl Streep as Isabella, John Cazale as Angelo, Lenny Baker as Lucio, Jeffrey Tambor as Elbow and Judith Light as Francisca.ÊPaul Davis was a well-regarded illustrator for magazines, record album covers, book jackets, and advertising. He formed the Paul Davis Studio in 1963 and his Êstyle had a tremendous impact on the field of illustration. His illustrations have appeared in many publications includingÊLife, Time, Esquire, The New YorkerÊand many other publications. He was art director of Joseph PappÕs New York Shakespeare Festival from 1984 to 1992. Davis's work is included in collections throughout the world and the poster collection of MoMA in New York.Ê.
