The first volume, published in 1944, discusses the situation of Jews in Russia and their struggle for emancipation through the reign of Alexander II (1881.) This second volume follows that history with an examination of the period up to the Bolshevik revolution of 1917. Subjects: Jews -- Russia. Jews -- Legal status, laws, etc. -- Russia.
