About This Item
W W Norton & Co Inc, 1971-06-01. Paperback. Very Good. Signed by Author. Light to moderate shelf wear to covers. Binding square and tight. No loose pages or creasing to spine. No highlighting, notation, or remainder marks. Signed and inscribed by contributor Walter Hamady to James (Jim) Holly, husband of Dr. Elspeth Pope. Association Copy: In 1991, Elspeth Pope, recently retired as a professor in library and information science, met Dr. Melissa Hardie, director of the Hypatia Trust in Cornwall, England. Melissa and her husband, Dr. Philip Budden, had created the Hypatia Trust, a library of published and personal documentation of the achievements of hundreds of creative women. Their collection of more than 15,000 items was housed in a fine building, in the garden next to their home. Their work and Hypatia's story planted the seed that grew into the dream that became the reality of Hypatia-in-the-Woods, a Retreat Center for Women in the Arts, Academe & Business located in Shelton, Washington. We have more of James Holly & Dr. Pope's library available upon request. Thank you for supporting Last Word Books and independent bookstores.

About Last Word Books
Books are a gateway drug. It starts out innocently enough, reading C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien, pretty soon you are reading harder stuff like Kerouac and Burroughs, the next thing you know you're strung out on Bukowski and DeSade, worrying about the Patriot Act and Free Speech, and joining the ACLU. If books are your drug of choice, Last Word has your fix!
