Quarter bound in black leather with red title label stamped in gold and marbled boards. 24mo size, 2 74 and 263pp, each volume with it's own title page. Text in Italian. A Good copy. The boards with rubbing along the edges. The leather spine has a tiny chip at the head and a light rub. Former owner's name inke d on front endpaper. Some light foxing to the edges of a few pages. Bi nding tight, sewing good. Sound copy. .

Armorial bookplate per volume, with motto 'spectemur agendo' and pendant medal showing Star of the Knight Grand Cross of the Order of Hanover (a chivalric order first instituted in 1815 by the Prince Regent), with its motto 'nec aspera terrent'. The 'R. Zotti' who edited this edition was Romualdo Zotti (d. 1819), an Italian editor and publisher who lived and worked in London, where he played an important role in introducing Italian literature to the English-speaking world.. 1st edn thus.
