The dust jacket is in Good condition with a 2 1/2 in. tear on the joints of the front and back cover and moderate edge wear.

The "C.P." in the inscription was Charles Pont, who left copies of his letters to the editor of the New York times castigating them for printing unfavorable reviews of the book. It also includes a letter in response signed by New York Times book review editor Francis Brown, and a few other clippings, etc. Tan textured cloth printed in black and red, decorative endpapers, 279 pages, errata slip at front, decorative dustjacket. The book looks and feels nearly new, with a small personal bookplate of Pont's on the back of the front free endpaper, no other names or markings. The mylar protected dustjacket has a slightly tanned spine, minor edgewear, and an inch-long closed tear to the top of the front panel, little paper loss.
