Pages have slight foxing, tanning and minor thumbing. Previous owner's inscription and stamps to front endpaper. Endpapers have strips of tanning caused by jacket. Text block edges intensely foxed. Boards have some moderate edge wear, with slight bumping to corners and minor bumping to spine ends. Unclipped jacket has light edgewear with small tears and creasing. Jacket is slightly rubbed and marked overall.

Methuen,, [1932]. 8vo., First Edition, with illustrations (a number full-page) in the text, small contemporary signature on front free endpaper; original green cloth, upper board blocked in gilt, gilt back, covers lightly faded else a bright, clean copy. This copy was formerly in the wardroom library of HMS CUMBERLAND and carries its bookplate on front paste-down.
