She was the daughter of Major Sydney Edwin Bellingham and Helen Mary Dunlop, but was adopted by Captain Ferdinand Beauclerk. Her name was legally changed to Helen Beauclerk by Deed Poll. Edmund Dulac (1882-1953), was a book illustrator prominent during the so called "Golden Age of Illustration". He was picked up in London at the age of 22 by J.M.
