Corners of front cover creased, and corners of back cover missing. Hand-soiled. Previous owner's name. This book was written in response to author Arthur Machen's claim in his book, "The Bowmen", that the stories of the angels at Mons came from his books. Begbie asserts that British soldiers in France saw the angels before Machen's books were written. 126 pp..

It is slightl y pulling away from the spine at the top of the front wrapper. The wra ppers are still firmly glued. Dust soiling to thew wrappers. Rubbing a nd minor creasing to the spine. One small store label and former owner 's name and date inked in small letters on the front cover's verso. Th e first sixteen pages are loose, but still attached by the upper sewin g. A scarce first edition. .
