'From the author' written in pencil to front endpaper. Minor foxing and tanning to pages. More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Some subtle looseness to binding but pages remain attached. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild sunning and scuffing overall. Spine has heavier sunning with soft crushing to ends. Lettering remains bright and clear. Book has a slight forward lean.

Berry was then a wine merchant partnered with his brother Frances Berry and Hugh Rudd operating Berry Bros. & Rudd, a company started in 1698 by widow Bourne near St. James's Palace, which proved to be an ideal location for supplying wines to the royal family which it has done since the reign of George III. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 389 pages .

The author travels in France visiting vinyards and describing his journey.
