Pages have medium tanning and light foxing throughout. Water staining and black marking to some pages, text remains readable. Pencil inscription to front pastedown. Boards have heavy shelf-wear with bumping to corners, crushing to spine ends and rub wear all over. Light tanning to spine and edges with tears to leather to spine edges.

Very light wear, small ll abrasions to rear board, light foxing mainly to first and last few pages, binding is tight and sound. In this edition a curious error has occurred on the title page; gauging is misspelled as guaging(sic).

Book fair with front joint cracked, spine ends missing 1.5 inches, title band missing top corner, loss to leather on top corner of front board, binding weak and fragile but holding with front board split from bottom almost to top, previous owner's marks to endpapers, text toned and shows some dampstaining throughout, rear endpaper missing bottom corner. Ffep (still attached to front board) has about half missing. Second fep (still attached to text block) has a chip at the hinge. Rear board is firmly attached. Owners' names on front paste down and title page Text block is tight and remarkably clean; edges dust soiled and usual toning. Virually no foxing. Bonnycastle (1751-1821), a London mathematician, teacher and writer, produced a number of popular mathematics textbooks that continued in print long after his death.. Fifth American Edition.
