Description:
San Francisco: Graham Mackintosh, 1968. First Edition. First edition. Stiff cream wraps containing eight unopened seed packets with a short Brautigan poem on each side, planting instructions on the other. Very Good+ or better with slight toning and shelf wear to wraps, offsetting to fore edge from glued flaps (some copies of this book had glued flaps, others didn't; no known priority), some light staining to seed packets from contents. Nice shape overall. All packets present, unopened, containing their original seeds for planting in the 1968-1969 season. Four of the seed packets were flowers, the other four were vegetables. A rare and unique poetry book from the author of Trout Fishing in America, metaphorically connecting the flower generation to its successors, the back-to-the-land and environmental movements.

San Francisco: Inferno Press, 1957. Book. Fine. Original Wraps. Signed by Author(s). 1st Edition. First printing. Extremely rare. The poem, "Return of the Rivers" is printed on a single sheet of white paper folded in half to make two pages. It is housed in a black paper cover with very light edge fading folded in half with a paper label signed "Richard Brautigan". A small circle of glue used to attach the poem sheet to the cover has bled through to both sheets. "The Return of the Rivers" is by far the rarest of all Brautigan items and possibly the rarest item in modern literature. OCLC lists only two copies held at the University of Virginia and UC Berkeley. Housed in a beautiful folding box with marbled boards, black morocco spine and cover label stamped in gilt. Book is protected in a custom cut clear mylar cover. All books are carefully wrapped and shipped in a box..
