Description:
Los Angeles: Laugh Literary, 1969. First Edition. Near Fine. Vol. 1 Issue 1. Limited edition. Signed on verso of front cover in sharpie by Charles Bukowski, Neeli Cherkovski (twice, once as alias "Fred Dyer"), Harold Norse, and what must have been a very drunk Steve Richmond. Small illustration that appears to be a combined effort of Cherkovski and Bukowski. Numbered 9 in upper corner; this appears to be one of a very few numbered copies perhaps signed at a collating party at Bukowski's house. 32 pp. Yellow stapled wraps. Near Fine with oxidization to staples and faint foxing to edges. Quite rare signed. This short-lived literary magazine was essentially Charles Bukowski's manifesto of the "Meat Poets"-- a mimeo'd journal of poetry with his brief editorial screed on the front cover attacking the bigwigs of the Black Mountain school. Fellow contributors include John Thomas, William Wantling, T.L. Kryss, Gerda Penfold, Douglas Blazek, and a few other kindred spirits. A high spot of '60s rebel poetry.

Description:
Los Angeles: Laugh Literary & Hatchetman Press, 1971. First Edition. Pamphlet. Near fine. A complete run of this short-lived (three issues) literary journal co-edited by Charles Bukowski. Issue one is inscribed by both editors and was mailed by Bukowski to the Wormwood Review, another journal to which he regularly contributed poems. The first volume reprints a pissed-off letter from Carol Bergé about Bukowski's method of soliciting contributions and his response, signed, "the lush." A near fine set. Volume one is signed by Bukowski and Cherry, with drawings, with an original envelope hand-addressed by Bukowski to the Wormwood Review.
