Text in English. Contemporary gilt-ruled leather with gilt ruling and decoration to the spine, and the remains of a leather title window to the spine. Leather worn with extensive patterns of insect damage to both covers, with sporadic accompanying loss to the gilting. Edges rubbed, with frayed corners and some loss at spine foot. No internal insect damage. Spine square. Hinges repaired; binding else intact. Decorative red speckling to textblock edges. Gilt-tooled armorial decoration of the Mercers' School in the center of each front board. The Mercers' School was founded by the Worshipful Company of Mercers in London in the 16th century and operated until 1959.
