Church Missionary Society, 1111. Hardcover. Acceptable. No Edition Remarks. 160 pages. No dust jacket. Pictorial paper covered boards. Black and white illustrations and colour tipped-in plates throughout. Slight cracking to hinges and gutters causing boards and binding to be loose. However, boards and pages throughout remain attached. Pages and plates have medium tanning and light foxing throughout. Previous owner's inscriptions and embossed stamp to front pastedown and endpaper. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Light tanning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Tears to cloth to spine. Staining overall.

Hana regrets the 'wicked' fall of her school friend 'good O Miki San' who has sold herself for a paltry debt, and is now a dancing girl in some evil place of amusement" - N. Morris. Intended for younger readers but enjoyable for all. Unmarked with above-average wear. Most of backstrip missing, with balance almost loose. A worthy reading copy of this lovely vintage work..
