Each volume gilt embossed to the spine with five raised bands to each spine. Each volume is bound in half leather with marbled boards. Each volume also has marbled endpapers and marbling to the fore-edges. Each volume has a frontispiece (volume one of the author) and an engraved title page by E. Finden. All books remain firmly bound but there is a little or some rubbing to the leather to the head/tail of the spines and to the edges of the spines and perhaps more notably to some of the leather corners.
