Double page black & white illustrations taken from Botticelli's drawings in Berlin and Rome. The spine is faded, as usual. Very clean throughout. This is a limited edition of 1475 copies, this copy numbered 403. The orange vellum boards are ruled in gilt and have gilt designs front and back. The boards are not worn, just the spine sunned. The production was beset with problems over the paper stock and the binding, therefore as a result, it is exceptionally rare to find such a superb copy without the usual fading to spine or splaying to covers.
