Light bumps to the corners and spine ends. A couple of minor stains to the front cover. A short owner inscription to the upper, front free endpaper. The dust jacket has chips to the corners and spine ends. A 3" tear to the lower spine edge along with another 3" tear to the lower, front flap fold. A crease joins to these two tears. Creasing to lower, rear, at the spine. Ad for Horton Hatches the Egg to the rear flap. Price of $2.50 to the front flap. Likely a circa 1950 printing. ; 4to 11" - 13" tall .

Signed and inscribed by Dr. Seuss on the back of the flyleaf, along the bottom. The flyleaf appears to have been mis-bound; it is wrinkled at the hinge and the top edge is a bit worn from sticking up above the page block. Otherwise the book is in VG condition in Fair dust jacket which has some chipping and edge wear and a piece missing from the spine.
