Evidence of some scuffing to some small areas on red padded binding that have been filled in with a close matching red dye by an amateur - but still easily visible but not too detractive. All edges with gilt and a bookmark bound in. Marbled end papers, raised bands with decorated compartments and gilt mountains decor and titles on cover. This is a facsimile of a rare 1911 edition. Fold-out map in fine condition. About very good condition due to the faults mentioned. No other faults. . Very Good. Hardcover. Limited Edition. 1994.

Bright and crisp copy with no noticeable wear. Housed in a beige textured cloth slipcase. The case is also in fine condition. . Fine. Hardcover. 1994.

Book has been rebound by library, with expected inserts, stamps and inscriptions. Black and white photographs throughout. Map to rear has been torn out - only the bottom corner, showing Bombay, remains. Slight cracking to gutters causing binding to be loose, however pages remain attached. Pages and photographs have medium tanning and light foxing throughout. All plates have a library stamp on reverse. Map to final page has heavy tears and is largely lost. Boards have pronounced shelf-wear with bumping and loss to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Slight crushing to spine ends with joints starting to crack. Moderate water and ring marks front and rear. Book has a pronounced forward lean.
