Very good copy with some very minor offsetting to the endpapers, a bit of rubbing to the spine and a 1/8” thin strip of fading to the cloth at the top and bottom edges of the spine in a very good lightly dust soiled dust jacket with a few tiny chips and a length-wise split to the front panel near the spine fold and a 2” tear to the bottom of the spine. This is volume three of Fisher’s tetralogy. The front panel of the dust jacket has a striking graphic illustration of a spider’s web.

Full brown cloth with gilt particulars to front and spine. Nice copy without previous owners' name or other markings. 369pp

The Caxton Press, 1932-01-01. Hardcover. Good. Good set of 4 hardcovers, no dust jackets. Scarce set of 4. All first editions, but books are not matching. "We Are Betrayed (1935)" and "No Villain Need Be (1936)" are brown cloth with gilt lettering/decoration. Text is unmarked, edges and end papers show some tanning. Bottom edges of these two books are rubbed. "In Tragic Life" was printed in 1932 and is a navy colored cloth with white decoration. Previous owner's name on end paper, pages are otherwise unmarked. Top edge has a stain on it. "Passions Spin the Plot" was printed in 1934 and is a maroon cloth with gilt decoration. Pages are clean, crisp and unmarked, though lightly tanned.
