Bound in pictorial cloth of graduating russet and terracotta shades, blocked in black, silver and gilt with a shark and a diver to the front cover and a coral reef with gold coins to the rear cover. Dark brown endpapers, all edges trimmed, with burgundy and white striped embroidered head and tail bands. Housed in a plain brown card slip-case. A fine copy (light wear to outer case). Jon Gilbert's copy, with his pencilled ownership to half title. This elegant hardback edition features an original introduction from the acclaimed thriller writer Ken Follett, and seven full-page colour plate illustrations by Lyndon Hayes. Publisher's hardcover in original metallic effect dust-wrapper. No inscriptions, moderately worn in the foil jacket, which easily shows wear; this copy has the usual and inevitable scratches to the silver surface, plus some rubbing. Very good overall. 15,000 copies. The eye-catching '70s jacket is printed in the 'Dufex' process, whereby a metallic foil is imprinted with a design or image via litho printing. Gilbert E4 (2).

One of a selection of titles by Ian Fleming, uniformly cased in harlequin colours, comprising sheets from the Ian Fleming Centenary Edition in an elegant new hardback binding for 2022. Live and Let Die was the first of many James Bond adventures to be set in the author's beloved Caribbean.

Publisher's black vinyl-style cloth-covered boards, lettered in gilt to the spine, in pictorial dust-jacket illustrated by Jerome Kuhl, priced at $3.95. A used, ex-library copy with expected stamps, library pocket at rear, label/bookplate to f.e.p., edges toned, jacket is well preserved. A full-price hardback reissue, published 17th January 1966. These editions appeared briefly in the mid 1960s and were easily outsold by the uniform Book Club editions. Second American Edition. Octavo (19 x 11 x 19cm), each in the publisher's soft covers printed with a design celebrating the recent filming of the title. Some browning/toning to the cheap paperstock as expected. Some toning/sunning to spines, reading creases to same, light rubbing in places, owner name to 'Octopussy', ink stamps to 'Golden Gun' and 'The Living Daylights', small area of tip-ex to inside cover of 'Diamonds', remainder free from markings. A very good set, complete in this format; a further Fleming-Bond film tie-in would be issued by Penguin books for 'Casino Royale' (2006), but this was part of the larger-sized 'Modern Classics' series; the film tie-ins for The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker were not written by Fleming, and no UK tie-in was produced for A View To A Kill.
