Pages remain bright and clear with minimal tanning and foxing. Previous owner's inscription to front free endpaper. Thumb-marking present. Some creasing to gutter. Cracking to gutters, with exposed netting. Front and rear boards are loose but still attached. Boards have mild edge-wear with slight rubbing to surfaces. Soft crushing to spine ends. Light tanning to spine and edges. Small marks to boards. Unclipped jacket has heavy edgewear with some areas of loss, heavy tears, chips and, creasing. Some rubbing to surfaces. Scuffing to edges. Brown stain to front panel.

Hardcover, bound in pictorial white cloth stamped in gilt & titled in gilt on the spine with endpaper maps. The book is laid into a dust wrapper featuring a photograph by Toni Hagen. The edges of the dust jacket are chipped with short tears to the head of the jacket's spine. 118 pages followed by a suite of photographic illustrations. The book is illustrated with 29 color plates, 42 monochrome plates, 18 sketch-maps and a relief map of Nepal. There is a spot of foxing to the fore edge of the book. Very good.

With an introduction by the Prime Minister of Nepal, B.P. Koirala, an essay by F.T. Wahlen "Our Responsibility towards Economically Developing Countries", and "The Role of the Individual in the Ideological Struggle of Our Time'. The translation is by Britta M. Charleston.

The edges of the covers are slightly darkened & there is a small stain to the front cover & some soiling to the rear cover. The dust jacket is rubbed & chipped with tears, some of which have been repaired with scotch tape. 117 & [2] pages plus a section of numerous photographic illustrations in black & white & color, with captions & commentary. Also with black-and-white diagrams in the text. The fore-edge is spotted. There is some staining to the prelims & the top corners of the text pages are very lightly creased. Good in a fair dust wrapper. <p>First edition for distribution in India with a folding relief map in a pocket at the rear.

The Indian edition was issued without endpaper maps or the folding relief map, though these are called for in the list of figures. The Swiss edition has a rear pocket for the folding map, which is absent from this edition. Loosely inserted is a 3 page photocopied document entitled 'Executive Report on Nepal' hand dated to May 1967, which contains facts partial views on various aspects of the country, its economy and organisation, intriguing marked 'Confidential'..
