Colour fold-out map. Pages with some foxing and tanning, particularly to endpapers and textblock edges. Cracking to front hinge with netting exposed. Binding loose. Heavy tears to map. Boards have heavy shelf wear with bumping and fraying to corners and crushing and fraying to spine ends. All surfaces heavily tanned, particularly spine. Gilt lettering to spine is dulled but remains brighter on front. Some additional marks and staining to surfaces. Book has slight forward lean.

Charles Scribner's sons, 1891. Hardcover. Fine. Hardcover, no dust jacket. Dark green cover has black and gold embossed on the front cover and spine. The cover has a slight amount of crushing on the top and bottom of the spine and very gently bumped tips to the boards. The front cover is pulling away from the body, but still attached. The pages show discoloration due to age, but are still very firmly attached. This book came with a pull-out map that is inside a self-contained sleeve of the back cover. The map is still present and in very fine condition. This book is in fine condition.
