Paris: Published by the authors, 1949. Limited First edition. Softcover. g. 1/450. Folio. 39pp (text) [16] loose lithographic plates, as issued. Uncut. Original printed stiff paper portfolio. Color frontispiece portrait of a Buchenwald inmate by L. Templier. This work is a moving homage paid by the author to a fellow inmate met in the living hell of Buchenwald. A compilation of song lyrics sung by Chanoir, a French inmate who entertained his fellow companions during their captivity at the hands of the Nazis. "Chansonnier à Buchenwald" is superbly illustrated with 16 lithographic plates (9 b/w and 7 duotone) by Jardel. This copy is one of 450 printed on Pur Fil du Marais, of which this is No.293. Portfolio slightly sunned along edges. Text in French. Portfolio in overall good+, interior in very good condition.
